Terms & Conditions
At our mission is to provide you, the artist, with striking graphics and exciting texts which increase the attractiveness of your new CD. In
order to do this most efficiently and to provide you with the best possible price and highest possible quality, we have established a few criteria with which we
offer our service.
We have summarised these here as simply and briefly as possible. For further questions, please feel free to contact us at any time.
Our first criteria is that:
We only accept assignments involving classical music recordings. Our experience has been with the Classical Music side of the business and it is here that we
can best give to you exactly the packaging that suits your needs as well as the needs of the Classical Music marketplace.
If you are interested in our services, we ask you to contact us so we can discuss the project you are planning. In this initial discussion, we will determine the
scope of your project, the size of the booklet you wish to accompany your CD, whether you wish any languages besides English and any deadlines you may have
for completion of your production. Shortly thereafter, we will provide you with a written and final price for your project.
At this time, we can also determine if you would be interested in our reviewing samples of your work with the potential to make possible contact between you,
the artist, and Claudio Records. Claudio Records can offer you complete recording, editing and distribution services. However, it is important for you to know
that we are not a part of Claudio Records and, therefore, cannot promise you that your recording will be added to their catalogue. This decision is made by
Claudio’s A&R department. Our role, in this case, is to recommend you to them should we feel that your recording has the potential, both commercial and artistic,
to become a successful one. Please note that we offer this service only to artists who have contracted for our full range of services which include booklet
notes and package design. For more information on Claudio Records, please see www.claudiorecords.com
Upon agreeing to the scope and delivery date for your project and, if accepted by them, working with the recording and release dates for your CD to be determined
between you and Claudio Records, we will require the following materials from you. All materials must be submitted in digital form.
- A complete list of the works to be recorded including composer names, titles, individual movements.
- Any comments you may have as to the reason you have decided to record this repertoire.
- In the case of new works or works by unknown or living composers, please provide us with either a description of the work by its composer and a composer
biography or with your description and composer biography as may be suitable to your project. At this time, we will provide an approval form to you for your
signature.
- Written confirmation of the size of the booklet, languages you wish (if any beyond English) and agreement to our price for the project.
- The name or title for your CD as it will appear in its manufactured form.
- Colour or black & white photos of you and all participating artists. NOTE: All photos MUST be 300d.p.i. or better. PLEASE DO NOT SEND US ANY PHOTOS YOU
DO NOT WISH US TO USE. This saves time and costs.
- With any photos, please do not forget to supply any necessary photo credits and permissions so as to avoid copyright infringement.
- A deposit of 50% of the MusicArtBiz.com charges. NOTE: These charges are not in any way associated with recording costs or with charges as may be paid to
Claudio Records. You are working here with two separate and independent service providers.
- If your recording is not to be made by Claudio Records, please put us in touch with your recording engineer or producer. We will require a recording sheet
with timings following the final edit of the sessions. When we work with Claudio Records, we do not need this from you because we will receive complete track
sheets from them.
After delivery of these materials and receipt of the 50% deposit onto our bank or PayPal account, we will begin design and work on your recording
- Upon completion of our initial design for your packaging and the text for your booklet, these will be submitted to you for your corrections and approval.
Please note here that correction means exactly that and not major changes to elements already approved. Should you wish such changes, these will be made
for you, but an additional charge will be incurred for doing so.
- Upon your approval of the materials sent to you, which includes the complete packaging and all texts and translations, you will be asked to sign and return
our release statement accepting the project as it has been completed.
- Upon acceptance of the project, we will ask you to transfer the remaining 50% of the price to our bank or PayPal account.
- Upon receipt of your payment in full, the design and text elements as well as tray card, spine and other matters of production will be put in a form ready for
printing and either sent to you, to Claudio, or to your manufacturer or printer along with specifications as may be needed to realise a true reproduction of the
print parts for your CD. NOTE:
Should you decide not to work with a recording company or to produce your CD privately, it will be your responsibility to determine who will perform the replication
services including printing and collation of the discs and print parts. However, in this case, we will be more than happy to provide you with the contact
information for several replicators/printers, all expert in CD production, so you may compare these prices for yourself. (Please keep in mind that in many cases
these firms will not accept an order for replication/printing unless a certain minimum quantity has been ordered.)
